Results of the Autumn Spaniel Test

We held our last AV Spaniel Working Test of the year on Sunday the 14th of September in the fabulous woodlands of the Fonthill estate by very kind permission of Lord Margadale.

We ran a Puppy test in the morning which managed to stay relatively dry and then a bit of a soggy affair for the Novice in the afternoon.

Our judges Steve Brankin and Damien Fitchett began the Puppy test with a hunt up in the woods, competitors each had a seen retrieve followed by a hunt under the opposite judge.

Once completed the judges then set a second static test which consisted of a single blind retrieve.

The results were as follows;

1st place with Craigscourt Kayleigh - John Bartlett

2nd place with Winkles Best View - Stacie Ellard

3rd place with Chosenworth Elm - Izzy Riley

4th place with Shellspoon Lady Marmalade - Rod Thompson

We were very honoured to be visited by our Patron Dame Mary Morrison, who very kindly presented the awards in the Puppy test.

The Novice got underway at just after 12:30pm.

Hunting took place in the woodland under our judges Steve Brankin and Rob Singleton with Damien Fitchett standing in for Richard Preest who very sadly couldn’t make it. Damien coordinated a static test consisting of a blind with a distraction.

Despite the soggy conditions competitors battled on and I am pleased to announce results as so;

1st place with Shellspoon Lady Marmalade - Rod Thompson

2nd place with Forever Gold - Colin Marshall also collecting the Novice Dog Novice Handler award.

3rd place with Countryways Marie Ant - Ross Sambrook

4th place with Tufftyke Taz - Steve Langdon
