Novice Retriever Field Trial on New Ground

The Wiltshire Working Gundog Society held its Novice AV Retriever Trial today (9th December) at Great Durnford.
This was the first time they had hosted a Retriever Trial and couldn’t do enough for us to make the day a great success.
Our thanks go to The Great Durnford Estate, Matt Gentle the Estate manager , who was with us all day and was our link to Tom Paul the Keeper.
Running on a reduced team of Beaters, they were able to put enough sporting birds over our brilliant team of 6 guns, headed up by Howard Feltham. Our very grateful thanks go to them for shooting just for the Trial today.
Our judges (Nick Coates, Mike Jones, Jason Mayhew & Jane Mann) were able to give the dogs ample opportunity to showcase their natural abilities, resulting in the following awards:
1st place & The Ticefield Trophy to
Tom Sage handling Lab D, Hinderwell Redrum

2nd Place & Guns Choice with the Melbury Award Trophy to
Patti Money-Coutts handling Lab B Stauntonvale Caracal

3rd Place to Helen Ford handling FCR D Percuil Dasher

4th Place to Ken Green handling Lab D Highshot Zephyr

CoM to Isobel Whitford handling Lab D Bellaroyal Funky Monkey

Thank you Jennie Dimmock for being Chief Steward, Jane Rasch for carrying the Red flag Jos for being a steward & Laura Barclay for picking up.

Thank you also to Skinners for your sponsorship and to FTMS for making life a little bit easier.
