We REALLY need help

For the club continue to thrive we are in need of more committee members – particularly on the Retriever side – if you would be willing to get involved with organising Tests, society admin and other positions available please contact our Communications Secretary who would love to hear from you and can advise you on how you might be able to help.

A BIG thank you

Thank you to Annabel Kettler for our wonderful Retriever pictures and Kit Williams for our Spaniel ones.

A big thank you to Howard Feltham who let us use his lovely ground near Mere last Monday for Spaniel training. It definitely was a great place to practice water training, as well as hunting and other retrieves, The weather was a little wet but all still had a great evening, with numbers being good numbers at all levels. Trainers were impressed with all spaniels making real progress.

We look forward to seeing you at Moorwood in Bruton on Monday 4th June.

If you would like to join us with your retriever do contact Steve (our Training Coordinator) on or just have a look at the information on our Spaniel Training page

After a lovely hot day yesterday 20 people turned up for our training session, not as many midges as last time however, there was a lot of long grass to deal with. The Puppy class was rather small which enabled each dog to have plenty of attention and plenty to think about at the end of the day.

The Novice and Open were well attended and it was lovely to see Ken Green put up a fence for the dogs to jump and retrieve their dummy; lots of fun and a great lesson. This was our last session at Orchardleigh with huge thanks to Mr Charles Fuller who has been more than kind.

Next time we are at Horningsham on 6th June and look forward to seeing as many dogs as can make it. Luckily we were closing up as the rain came down so nobody got too wet! Lots of smiley faces and tired dogs; a lovely evening.”
